These homemade padsicles felt AMAZING on the vajayjay after birth. You can also purchase padsicles that you toss in the freezer, however I wanted to make sure I was getting chemical free, non toxic, organic pads with the best all natural ingredients to heal down there!
What you need:
Large ziploc bags
Directions.
Pads: I got these at nature’s fare but I’m pretty sure you can get them anywhere! I made sure they were extra long and the most absorbent ones. Lay the pads out on the counter keep the pad intact with the plastic and save the middle cover part that holds “the wings” for after you put on the ingredients.
Aloe Vera: Layer on the Aloe Vera Gel across the entire pad! I did a pretty good thick layer.
Which hazel and frankincense: Fill the bottle with Witch Hazel and add 3 drops of Frankincense
Fold the pad wings back in, put the sticker back on it and place in a large ziploc bag. Fill up the bag and lay them in a bowl of some sort so they have a bit of a curved shape!
I made about 12 pads. My doula said 8 is usually sufficient but I made extra in case I really liked them. Which I did. I would generally put on 1-2 a day and then change my pads when they got full with a dry pad! Make sure you have lots of extra dry pads on hand for the bleeding.
TIP: instead of rolling the pads lay them in a bowl so they are frozen in the shape you will be placing them on your post-partum underwear!
